Shane Horton was born in 1970 in the North central Washington town of Omache. Raised next to the Colville Reservation, It was there that he met the stone and wood carvers that would inspire him.
A long way from his first carving -a seal from soapstone- at the age of twelve, Shane
Has ventured in many different mediums, including, fossil Ivory, fossil bones, marble, serpentine, and various forms of native and exotic woods.

Influenced by the North West, Alaska and the Southwestern states, Shane likes to sculpt and carve various forms of animal life, and takes pride in bringing some form of expression through each piece.   As the years progress, Shane is inspired to move towards more life sized and even monolithic sculptures, as well as continuing to carve fine custom flutes and custom jewelry.
Shane is a self taught artist, blessed to have met many like minded artists along the way, allowing him to partake in dance, music, and performing arts as well.  Doing his best in today’s age to be a good example of how to live a simple and earth friendly life through all forms of artistry, Shane has a dream of everlasting peace and love for all.
